Making a Difference

Greenville, South Carolina benefits from a vibrant network of nonprofits all working for the general good. Hollingsworth Funds supports the best of these efforts in areas such as arts and humanities, education, health, social community services and the environment.

A generous endowment allows Hollingsworth Funds to distribute all of its annual profits to Furman University, Greenville YMCA and a changing roster of Greenville-based nonprofits selected each year through a competitive grants application program.

Hollingsworth Funds' goal is to supplement, rather than supplant, existing giving already available within the community. Therefore funding preference is given to innovative programs outside the scope of day-to-day operations and capital expansions designed to extend a grantee's reach.

Foundation beneficiaries—some large, some small—serve widely diverse populations while working toward a broad range of charitable, educational, wellness, and cultural purposes.
