Access & Advance in the Workplace

Increase access to jobs that pay a living wage and create opportunities for employees to advance in their careers.

Only 30% of the jobs in Greenville pay a living wage. We need to support the growth of local small businesses and recruit companies that will keep Greenville competitive. Research shows that organizations with diverse workforces have a competitive advantage and tend to perform better. Likewise, companies with opportunities for career advancement promote stronger employee performance which leads to better organizational outcomes.

We’re working with our community to strengthen pathways that:

  • Expand access to resources for minority-led small businesses and entrepreneurs.
  • Encourage businesses that pay a living wage and have diverse workforces to come to, grow, and stay in Greenville.
  • Advocate for more inclusive hiring and employment practices.
